So many thoughts and reflections right about now. Most of which would require time to pen down, which I’m sorely lacking sleep, much less pen down thoughts.
And there are those thoughts that are best kept private.
Overall, might have been reading too much into a single brief moment, just maybe. Or if it was really true, then how? Sigh.
It’s that time of the year again.
CHC Valentine’s Day Drama 2011 (Day 2)
Okay well, technically it’s Day 2 since there were rehearsal on Friday night, so that’s considered Day 1/Night 1 I suppose?
Anyhow, am quite brain dead. To a point where I mixed up Starhub and Starbucks (totally different industry and products I know). But similar names no?
Am involved for Valentine’s Day Drama 2011 in TVM. How wonderful is that? First time directing for drama! Quite an interesting experience really. Minus the late lights and early mornings that we have to spend rehearsal and setting up equipment (which frankly I have no qualms about), it’s really awesome. To have crew sacrifice their time to do something that in turn impacts the congregation and the Internet viewers.
So lets see, so far… Friday night’s rehearsal ended at about 2am. Next morning had to report at 8am! That calls for some Starbucks no? And in the new tumbler that I recently bought, which half the people fell for as a real Nikkor 70-200 lens. Lol. Gonna try tmr by throwing it at someone and watch them FREAK OUT trying to catch a supposedly $2K lens. Wahaha.
Okay. Then a couple of rehearsals in Expo in the morning, then rush down to JW with AD (Karen) and Chorus Board ladies (Joanna and Trina). Then another dry run there.. Actual show for svc 1. Then immediately rush down to Expo from JW. And did drama for svc 2 again.
It’s quite awesome really. The adrenaline is quite addictive. Well the rushing from one end of the island to the other is not really a new thing, but having to do it from time to time is really REALLY fun. For some reason. LOL.
And looking at all the drama crew and cast on Friday night. Most of whom had just finished work or school. Even the sound, lighting, TV and Chorus Board folks who were there, it shows the dedication that all of us have in putting a great drama together, whether big or small.
It basically shows how much these people care about the congregation, to want to impact them and their families and new friends, as well as the millions of Internet viewers around the world. The love that we have for every single one of them, it’s just indescribable. Everyone wants to do something better, to have an input to make it look and feel and sound better. Not just some small drama that we had to JUST put together. But it require the efforts of so many people.
I’m glad, proud and honored to be part of the team, of Valentines’s Day Drama 2011.
Another 2 shows to go.

Went down to the SAF film unit today for a one-day crash course of the Video Production Course. Really feels good to be in a different environment, especially one where people actually speak in the lingo that you’re used to listening to.
Fought Z monster though, and we all know, when the Z monster comes, there’s no way to deflect it. Bummer. Haha. But not like it makes a difference though.
Anyhow, the culture is different too. There’s OCS on one side, where the poor cadets are shouting their lungs off while doing early morning route march, like recruits. Feel sad for them man. Then there’s CLME where I was at. Very different culture and attitudes. And they have awesome editing suites as well. Brand spanking new ones for that matter. Ahem.. 12-core Mac Pro. Ahem. Bummer. Mine’s only 8. But works wonderfully as it is. Haha.
Anyhow, mind’s drifiting off to sleep already. Hoping for Universal Studios on 21st and/or 22nd. Haha. That’ll be awesome.
Let’s try that experiment this year again shall I…..
And perhaps it’s about time I wrote down my wish list too! How awesome is that.
ah ber ca deh eh
I figured, that maybe if I were to write more on this page without withdrawing from whether people are actually viewing it or not, there might actually be more content of my life being poured into this electronic place.
Not that I keep a paper diary of sorts, but at some point in time I did write on another blog, a password-protected one. But that blog also went dead because of the changes in my life. There were loopholes in that system to say the least. Trust and doubt was the main issue I suppose.
So for the most part of the time when I’m not blogging, I’ve been blogging in my mind, or “blogging” with God. Having chats with Him were, and still is, comforting.
So yeah, some what of a a revelation from a close friend, I was reminded that WordPress does have a feature where you can password protect selected entries. Now why didn’t I think of that. So now I could just focus on digitizing all my brain matter, all in one place. Here.
Sometimes when I read blogs, it amazed me how little someone can say, but it means a lot. I really admire the power of language in that sense. Poems, songs. So much underlying meanings to them. Frankly, am still struggling with trying to pick up productivity every since GKS’s grand idea kicked into my life, not that I have a choice for that matter.
Past couple of weeks, mostly the weekends, have been wonderful. Always appreciate the great company that God has blessed me with. Every single day, I always thank God for the few people in my life that I truly appreciate with all of my heart. Because of the things that they have done for me, however insignificant it might be, I truly appreciate it.
.
Now I’m just wondering, will anyone actually remember. Did that “social experiment” thing last year, but the results were kinda woozy. And also, have a great idea of how to spend the day, preferably with chosen friends, oh dreams are so great.
Though there’s always the fears. Overcoming is a mad thought when you have no idea what’s on the other side, especially when you’re so comfy with the current side right now. I need guidance. And if the horoscope thingy (which for a long time I’ve been treating as a “coincidence where possible”), at SG Flyer is true, then God just guide me. If it isn’t already glaring out in the open for all to see already?
Or perhaps this is the way guys and girls are wired individually, still trying to make sense of it all. But God has His timings, and by experience, they are always at the right time, at the most awesomeness of times. But the process of awaiting those timings are sometimes, in extreme cases, excruciatingly annoyingly painful to wait.
For what it’s worth, “no one puts new wine in old wineskin”. Mentioned 4 times in the Bible. Must mean something doesn’t it. Obvious enough no?
Faith, Love, Hope. Oh God bless my English too.

About time I did some updates. But what’s an update without a couple of photos right. So, I’ll take the effort to post them. LOL.
Ehhh, just came back from Msia about 24hrs ago. And of all routes that could get flooded, the exact route that I was taking to Kuantan was the one that got reported in the papers. The one that passes through the towns of Labis, Chaah and Segamat. Flooded, blocked roads, no electricity etc etc.
Thankfully, when we were travelling just a day after the reported flood, it had already subsided so that traffic could get through. However, traveling through Segamat town was like traveling on a mission trip. Not that I have any experience as yet, but seems like it. Everyone is clearing up flood waters, damaged furniture. Pizza Hut was seen doing a massive clean up, so was KFC and McDonalds. See, big corporations like this have funding to do that. So that when they’re finally cleaned up 2 days later, they’re the only eateries open in town. Which is, sad to say, true. Before that, the WHOLE of Segamat was practically a ghost town.
Of course, there’s always the local food if you can find one that’s open.
Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken. Which is, DIFFERENT in every town. From Yong Peng, to Segamat, to Kuantan, all have different taste, looks, and color.
And then there’s some of their interesting signage and english. There’s always the famous 3 letter number plates that can mean all sorts of things. But there’s more to that… Like, on a menu…
Stop what? Pass GO get $2000?
And for all 370KM of the route, survived with just one cuppa.
If there’s one thing I like about Starbucks, is their standardization of having their employees understand basic English at every single store. You can be some English dude, walk into a Starbucks in the middle of Chengdu, speak your own accent, and they’ll understand what drink you want.
Of course their English sounds funny, from China to Msia etc, but at least, they get your order right.
Oh come on, don’t say I’m an ass for speaking English when I know well to speak either in Mandarin in China or Malay in Malaysia. I mean seriously, how would you say Grande Caramel Macchiato in anything other than English? So heck, one English, all English. Give them a bit of practice anyway why don’t you.
Through It All (Hillsong) @ City Harvest Church
Yay I finally got the time to dump out another old worship song from church. These songs always never fail to brighten the mood.

This is what happens when you procrastinate.
You promise yourself and your readers that you’ll update more often, in fact, update everyday where possible. You set yourself a 30-day challenge in an attempt to force yourself to blog more everyday.
Unfortunately, due to “ah gong’s” great idea of NS, and coming home late on weekends, plus sleepless nights during projects, plus always having the “I’ll get that photo out soon, just got to find the right one”, you find nothing being typed.
In fact, I find myself thinking, it’s nearly coming to the end of January! And I’m still deep over my head with blog debts. And not a single character typed out. So, guilty.
Frankly, and honestly, I have no idea how to update everyday. There’s just so much work to be done every time I come home from camp due to the backlog from the time wasted in camp. And if I do want to blog something really nice, I might take a couple of hours sometimes.
Of course in the process, I’ve since lost a lot of readers, some who never came back because they won’t know when I’ll next write. The only successful entry so far was the Child’s Eye 3D movie review. Ranked No.1 on Google’s Search Engine Results, I’ve gotten every reader who was looking for a review of the movie. Hope I did some justice to that film. Then again, it’s an asian one, and no one wrote a review about it so to speak. So that was a big hit for a while.
After that, the whole read-o-meter dipped like a crashing economy, probably even worse.
But no doubt, it’s not like I’m gonna abandon blogging at all. It’s just that many other social networking platforms seem to have taken over blogging as “the thing” to keep track of your friend’s lives. I definitely tweet and Facebook more than I blog. You’ve probably seen many blogs so obsolete, or even deleted for that matter. Though some resurface time and again, then poof they go again.
Anyhow, I’ll see what I can do, that’s if I manage to come back home more often, and when I’m in camp, try to get an iNet computer that’s not being hogged by Facebook-game crazy folks. They talk about games EVERYWHERE. It’s kinda freaky.

The necessity of a university education because the society “requires” you to have one.
Then again, it’s tough to succeed in Singapore because of the nature of the society here. Conservative, restricted, naive.
Why is the filming industry so protective and small? Cause there’re no opportunities for people to stand out? Or because people just don’t have the guts? Case in point, Jack Neo. He’s the only dude with the balls to make a feature-length film, publicly that is. Too much of these arty farty stuff in SG. And what’s the point, to have many thousands of weird awards that you’ve never heard of before and to live on kopitiam food.
It’s a completely different lifestyle.
