Fill In The Gaps

So many posts and pictures. So little time.
Didn’t even have time to update the blog banner or music. Time to change those first.

Guess I’ve gotta refer back to having “Delayed Posts” for a while. But will definitely find time to post things up!

100426

Super exciting weekend.

Zone Dance Workshop, Service with Dr Kim Sung-hae, Kexin’s engagement, Morning Prayer Meeting, Chinese Church, Service 4, Dialect Church, Hall 1 Teardown.

Super exciting. Crazy, and tiring. Hopefully I can find some time to post stuff here. Now waiting for poor iPhoto and my Mac to render. Overworked machine. Perhaps it seeks an upgrade?

100415

I miss my Mac. Hopefully I can get it back before the weekend starts so at least I have something to use. Not to mention posting up the many overdue photos. Should I do them in multiple posts or all summarized in one? Hmm.

Anyhow, just came to realize this. Twitter might just have hurt the blogging world. I realize I tweet about my life more on Twitter than I do on my blog nowadays. Or perhaps I need something fresh for my blog? Go towards a certain style or category so that it appeals to readers? Hmm.

Or it’s also because of the army. Find that, it’s very difficult to do EVERYTHING that you once had 7 days to do, in just 2 days. That’s crazy. It’s probably worse than mugging for a Media Law paper. At least I had many days and a companion for that. But squeezing 7 days of time into 2 days is just, insane. Oh wells.

Just some random rantings. And I love it when it rains, without the humidity that is.

Service Centres

Here we are.

Yes I’m finally blogging on a weekday thankfully.

Anyhow, picture posts are still going to be delayed, seeing that my Mac has just gone to “hospital”

Apparently, after I upgraded to Mac OS 10.6.3, my keyboard and trackpad went haywire. Normal problems would just be like, the trackpad becoming unresponsive, which also means that my keyboard goes missing too.

And it’s freaking frustrating especially when say, I’m playing Bejeweled Blitz halfway. And you see the counter running lower and lower (which means the system is actually fine), but the trackpad and keyboard just won’t respond! Crazy stuff.  Super fail sia.

Anyhow, hopefully I can get my Mac back asap. Got a video project I’m working on currently.

And my DSLR’s flash is finally at the service centre after such a long time. Though unlike the Mac, I have to pay for the repairs since it’s out of warranty. Dang.

.

I miss posting photos here. :( . Now you know why so many things are missing? Yea!

But once I get my Mac back. First thing will be to post a picture post here. Too many photos clogging up my albums, need to transfer them here before I have a massive April Update with what might seem to be 400 photos. Oh my goodness…

Adobe CS5 Launch Countdown

I kinda like this animation. Really something new.

Can’t wait for it to come out. Gonna be fun.

March Updates

I figured since I haven’t been updating frequently, I’ll do kinda a summary? LOL.

Lets see, every alternate week was having MJZone’s The Winning Look Workshop. Guest speakers were Franklin and Sally Wuu. Just grabbed some random photos from the albums, most of them are quite, unusable.

There’s me serving, lol. Trying to figure out what was wrong with the sound. :S

.

Then there’re the ice breakers. Love this one really. Like play-theatre.

So they have these words or pictures that were flashed for the first guy in the line to see, and they gotta do it “pictionary” style to “pass the message” to the last guy.

Here’s an example. Mingyao with “Beatboxing”

Looking cool eh?

How about this.

Jiahui with “The Matrix”.

Cool eh? A lot of fun really, though guess she needs to lean back a tad bit more.

And there’s our wonderful Zone Supervisor, Meng Chin

.

Been trying to form up the media team and stuff. Starting out small, with rosters and stuff. Though of course, we need more people who’re able to serve in the area of media. Especially girls.

Yay! We’re now HD. Video, photos (duh), and slides (most of them that is).

And then there’s church too, like, duh right? Serving faithfully every week.

Love the atmosphere in church all the time. The joy and presence. Woo.

Oh, even more random photos. Saw the same pair of shoes on one of my train rides!

Super freaky. Managed to take a photo of it too actually. And btw, I don’t know who’s the one wearing it. Haha.

More random stuff. Got this through the mail.

Okay I had order something online and all. Got it delivered by registered mail, so I’m kinda expecting like a nice package thing right? Not.

Look at the number of stamps! I’ve NEVER seen something like that before! Really! Isn’t there like a $5 stamp or something like that? LOL.

Imagine how many times that poor dude/gal gotta lick them stamps. And I’m quite sure mine isn’t the only package.

Anyhow, think I went to Laselle School of Arts couple of weeks back. Quite smashed by their building and stuff. And the reception guy was very nice too. Went around their school, and I saw this.

If you can zoom in or something, you’ll realize that this is actually a photography class in progress.

Okay not so much of a class, more of an activity. Quite cool really. This is how they conduct their classes man. Unique.

And since it’s a university, you have people like this too.

Lying around on the grass and stuff. Synthetic grass in this case, since the building doesn’t have much green to believe with.

.

Another time, went over to Suntec, to kinda check out the place and all, and eventually ended up emoing there too.

Love them lights, love the water, hate the music.

They gotta upgrade la, it sounds atrocious really. Sorry guys, but it’s really bad.

Of course, went round taking photos. Or attempted to.

Yeah I managed to go into that said 500-seat theatre. Quite cool. The stage’s a bit small though.

Tried taking a couple more photos of Suntec. But all cannot make it. Also partially because said companion was like in a rush or something. Bah.

Spotted this at Northpoint Shopping Centre

KIDS@PLAY eh? Cool…..

Back to church stuff. TVM had this intermediate class of sorts. Teaching about TVM stuff of course.

There’s Melvin teaching on CCU panels. Genius he is.

And outside the TVM room at JW, there’s always these weddings going on almost every weekend right?

This one caught my eye.

Broadway style photo taking sia. Haha. Quite cool.

Didn’t take any photos with it though, cause no one wanna take with me. :(

Love serving really. It really shows how much time we can sacrifice to make time to serve God in different areas, to make a difference in other people’s lives, whether directly or indirectly.

And in TVM’s case, it’s like worldwide broadcast right? So there’s so much more.

So fun right? Haha.

Okay, this was actually supposed to be my futile attempt at taking a briefing photo. But the iPhone camera didn’t really allow that wide a photo. Doh.

Love this photo. Yay, both serving ministry in the same service! TVM and choir!

That Telex headset is so HUGE. I didn’t actually realize it’s that big until I saw this photo. Goodness.

Nonetheless, yay, got a photo with my friends! Haha. Haven’t had one of these in a long time. :(

Anyhow, managed to go down to Orchard. Haven’t been there in like the longest time. Got lost at Somerset MRT. You know how the old escalators were like right in front of you when you make that right turn out?

I got a huge shock when I turned right. I thought I had made a wrong turn, or I alighted at some other station instead. Goodness. So much has changed since I’ve been to Orchard.

And by the time I reached the surface from the basement of what they call 313@Somerset, I got an even bigger shock.

The building is gone! Like, MISSING!

It’s like the huge empty lot there with nothing in it but dirt and dust.

I was like, where in the world did it go??

But frankly, it’s quite a eyesore too. Like “omg there’s a hole in the ground” kinda thing. Only this hole is humongous.

.

Just this past Saturday, reached Riverwalk like at crazy 7:30am. Tried to take a couple of sunrise shots.

Guess my photog skills has taken a dip a bit though.

Over the SG River with the Marina Bay Sands in the background.

Alamak, terrible photo. Some might say it’s nice or what. But to me, this is called “jialat photo”.

No focus, no subject, no objective, no… boomz.

Just a very large body of water with nothing much in it either. Hmm…

Okay now for a bit of color. But quite dry eh? Too many subjects.

Was kinda playing with depth of field though, or rather the lack of it, see if I could get the building in focus together with them leaves.

Classic movement shot. Someone remove that dang ERP gantry. Such an eyesore.

.

Some random perspective shot….

.

Okay this one was super random. Cos there wasn’t really anything to take from the bridge.

.

Went to JW for service after that, fellowshipped with CG and stuff.

And look at what we’re crazy for.

Chicken rice.

At some point, it does get a bit gross too.

And I was so shacked after that.

And apparently so were my equipments.

They need their own seats too.

Okay that just shows how tired I was la hor?

Awesome man.

Anyhow, managed to go out today, quite enjoyed myself. Perhaps I’ll blog about it tmr, a short one.

But I’ve gotta post this up. This is funny. Spotted while window shopping at 313.

You mean you sell fire-retardant ones?? Where???

So MIC. (Made in China)

Earth Hour 2010

Alright, time for a new post. A short one before I doze off.

Lots have been happening. Too much actually, but leaning more towards the positive side hopefully. ‘Course there’re the down sides at times, but then again, it’s like the same time over and over again. There’s bound to be a traffic light being built in my brain in the process. The traffic flow is just too much.

But then again, some things can’t be ignored either.

Anyhow, thinking of posting a picture intensive post tmr. Though “intensive” would not really be a choice of word when comparing that with Vivian’s blog. And also, my standard has got to improve somehow. Has declined too much now. Time to build it up to proper English terms again.

Anyways, since I’m seeing Earth Hour photos everywhere, I’m gonna post mine. It’s nothing much really.

This as like around 9pm? Only essential lightings as you can see. Don’t judge it by how bright it seems, it’s quite dim really.

This should be nicer look. See, lighting ministry did play their part somewhat in Earth Hour, whether intentionally or not. Lol.

Anyhow, off to doze. Can feel sleep coming to visit me.

AnB Countdown 2010

Arise and Build 2010

$17,300,000

Are you ready?

CNY 2010

Could have blogged more. But a small hiccup in the Digi Internet had me stalled.

Anyhow, have been in Msia since Sat for the CNY period. So I’ve been using Digi’s Pre-Paid 5RM a day mobile internet. Though, it’s not 3G in most parts of msia, but at least there’s EDGE, which is just slightly faster than the old GPRS network. Apparently, 3G is only available in like KL that area.

And yet another hiccup, Internet Tethering somehow wasn’t supported either. Which means I couldn’t use my iPhone internet connection on my Mac. Everything had to be done on my battery-die-very-fast iPhone. Which in most cases, isn’t a really good idea.

.

ANYWAYS… Managed to pump out some photos to post online. At least I’m making an effort to get things up eh? Managed to take some photos with my D80 and iPhone too.

Of course, there’s always the usual pre-CNY traffic jam across the causeway, and under the sweltering heat as well. Thank God for aircon.

And yeah, I was the driver all the way through. Kinda tiring actually, mostly cause of the heavy traffic for most of the way. But nonetheless, it was definitely fun! Many many potholes on msia’s roads. LOL.

Noticed this cool thing while queuing up for Msia’s immigration too!

A half finished bridge! Don’t really remember reading it in the papers though, but it does seem from the mess over in Msia that they’re going ahead with the building of their side of the bridge. Hmm. Looks nice though.

And this is probably the champion of all signboards you’ll ever find in Msia. While stuck on a 2 lane road towards the immigration,

“Festive season congestion. Use alternative route.”

Yup, I’ll definitely want to see that “alternative route” in the 2-lane exit-less road.

Traffic onwards on the highway and trunk roads was heavier than usual though. Simply put, I never really got above driving 120kmh on any roads in general. Quite slow really. Stopped over at Segamat for some coffee and rest as well. Finally reached my relative’s place in Kuantan like, close to 7 or 8pm if I’m not wrong.

And oh! They moved! To this awesome new place in Bukit Ubi.

HUGE RIGHT?

It’s actually a corner house with another terrace house too. Knock down them connecting walls and you have a uber spacious porch and parking lot! It’s even bigger than the previous house!

And did I mention, one of these terraces houses there is probably cheaper than a 3-room HDB flat in SG! Goodness… Lets go for a tour…

Another angle of the porch.

.

The living room! Spacious eh? Looks really cosy too.

.

The dining area! It’s like SUPER HUGE. The kitchen is behind where I’m standing, though, don’t have a photo of it.

.

Quite nice eh the exterior?

.

Check this out. There’s a freaking CORRIDOR for the rooms on the 2nd floor! Not to mention a lobby the size of a bedroom just up from the staircase. My goodness. The house is really HUGE!

After touring the new house, went down for some food! The usual steamboat and BBQ right in the porch!

Feels more spacious now that the porch is bigger. Everyone has more room to run.

And oh, guess it’s a good thing for this new addition to the family too!

Introducing, Jojo! Don’t really know much about dogs though, but they’re saying he’s a cross-breed of sorts. Was pretty angry when he first met me though, but after a day, this dog knows… Roger=Food for Jojo.

I don’t blame him though, seems like he’s new in the family or something, and constantly getting beaten because of things that he shouldn’t be doing and places he shouldn’t be venturing. LOL.

Went around taking some photos, or trying to take photos. Didn’t really feel all in the mood for some reason, but oh wells.

.

3 of my cousins with my 2nd uncle

.

Cher Jye. After so many years, still very bubbly and lively. LOL!

.

Case in point. LOL. No points for guessing how old young she is though. Haha.

Went out to the main road to see some firework. And yes, my neighbors there actually bought them fireworks. Just a smaller scale of those you would see at NDP or something like that. It’s nice really, and quite romantic too. :x

Anyhow, let one of me cousins, Nicholas try his hands on me DSLR.

Forgot to adjust the settings though, resulting in most of them either being out of focus or blur. Oops.

.

Angeline and Nicholas. They just got married last Dec! So sweet right?

.

Angeline, as taken by her hubby Nicholas! LOL. They’re really wonderful.

.

Another cousin, from my 1st uncle’s side, with his son! Yeah, that’s how big the gap is. LOL.

.

And they’re expecting their 3rd child. Due next month I think. LOL.

Admittedly, this is quite a badly taken photo.

.

Close to midnight already by his time, so my 1st uncle started prepping for his prayer stuff.

Father and daughter-in-law… Nice…

.

I think this is like the first nice shot I’ve taken in months. :s

.

Apart from the usual food offerings, there’s also the large candles and joss sticks.

.

Always starts with the eldest in the family, followed by the younger ones.

.

.

All the relatives paying respects…

.

My 2nd uncle. Still SINGLE! Not sure whether available or not though. LOL!

Rest of the night was pretty much spent fellowshipping with the relatives. Most of them sipping wine and shandy at the same time. Haha.

I was watching CNY countdown shows on ACE and CCTV. Of course, the one on CCTV was LOADS better than AEC’s. AEC kept having these audio feedbacks, quite annoying really. CCTV on the other hand, though their drama acts are pretty much the same every year, but since it’s China, they do have a lot of creative ideas. They decked their ENTIRE stage with LEDs! So to speak, there’s no need for a physical change of backdrops for every performance or scene, just use the LEDs! And it’s layered around the whole depth of the stage too! Not to mention projections on the stage floor too. It just looks really awesome.

.

Next day went out with relatives to roam around Kuantan. Not really a lot though. Haha. Went to this temple that they go to every year without fail.

.

And with a large group of 23 people wanting to go for lunch after that, this is definitely necessary.

LOL.

.

Next day (2nd day of CNY), went over to Aunt’s place for lunch! Always appreciate the spread of food there.

.

Just realized that should have taken a lot more photos though, seems really empty man.

.

3rd day went over to M.S Garden Hotel’s Chinese Restaurant for some dim sum. Haven’t been there for a couple of years, but everything, literally everything there, is still the same as probably, 5-6 years ago? Perhaps with the exception of their waitresses though. Even the Yu Sheng  booth looks exactly the same. LOL.

.

Traffic on the way back was loads heavier though. Stopped by along the way to buy keropok. Fascinaticingly cheap and tasty ones must I add. Took a couple of photos while waiting for Dad to pack them all.

Just throw only! LOL. Quite interesting the way they deal with food here.

.

Traffic was super heavy ALL the way back to JB. Not to mention queuing up behind slow moving trailers on truck roads, going at like 20kmh and then stalling while up a hill. Hilarious really.

Even on the North-South Highway, traffic was also super heavy, probably averaging like 50kmh for the most parts. Really really slow, but there wasn’t like any accidents or hold ups though, just probably really slow traffic I suppose.

Stopped over at JB for dinner, super hungry by then.

Really traditional hawker centre style with rats and cats and stuff like that. Never seen one like this for a long time now.

Oh, they have interesting menus too!

Black Papper Crab and Curry Lenves Crad…

.

Curry Wild Boar and Tutle Ctoy Pot!

.

Sambal Banboo Shell and Kong Kong!

.

Mengolia and Black Bear Ribs…

.

And, not forgetting these too! Always loves these plates when I go to msia, somehow they just don’t really see it properly I suppose. LOL!

.

Says a lot for itself. LOL.

.

Should be quite high tech eh?

.

Overall not a bad trip I suppose, though filled with lots of emotions and stuff, didn’t really go according as per planned. :(

As the days draw nearer, the more emo and depressed I become. Sigh.

Video Inspirations

Have been viewing a lot of videos recently. Being inspired in the process. Having many different ideas going through my mind as to how to enrich a viewing experience of media and video, and how to apply it to the context of the church and MJ zone too.
So many ideas, so little workspace, even lesser time to execute them.

Anyhow, leaving Singapore for CNY. Here’s a video from Hillsong on their Vision Sunday. It’s really really awesome.

Vision Sunday 2010 from Hillsong Church
