Didn’t bring my DSLR along though, of course there will be other people with cameras, or I could just use my iPhone for candid ones. Haha.
Will have another post for this!

So while most of the people in SG are sleeping, or rather being online but not knowing what’s going on in the US, Apple recently introduced the new revolutionary iPad.

The new iPad.
Bad choice of name aside, it’s basically, well, an iPod Touch on steroids. Just with a larger 9.7-inch screen, which definitely makes viewing almost everything, much more pleasant. It had the same functions as that of an iPod Touch or iPhone, only better cos of the larger screen, giving it more space to display more options and features as well.
I’m not going to post up all the technical specifications of this device though, kinda defeats the purpose if you can just go to Apple.com and look it up there.
Though, there’s just this one bit. I never knew there was a gap between mobile devices and laptops. I mean, a mobile device is just something that you use to make calls, send sms or emails and stuff. You could do work on a mobile device like the iPhone, just that it’ll be painfully slow. So there’s the laptop for your more “intensive” work.
I mean, the iPad is still afterall, an iPod Touch with an amazingly large screen. Though, one cool thing is that you can edit iWork documents right on the iPad itself too. Wish that had that for the iPhone, and no prizes for guessing why you can’t edit Microsoft Office documents. The Calendar app is really cool too. Totally redesigned for the iPad, like a virtual calendar book, the physical version being the one that we’ve all been used to, of course without the ability of deleting it without any doodles. Many other features like large screen maps, HD YouTube Vidoes, etc etc. Think you can just read them all at Apple.com/iPad.

Though, lets face it. You aren’t going to see someone walking down the street carrying what seems like an oversized iPod Touch or a slab of aluminum with the Apple logo on the back.
Reading newspapers, ebooks or viewing websites is definitely much more pleasurable with a larger screen. Of course, my iPhone does the same thing, only with a smaller screen, but I ain’t complaining. At least the folks sitting beside me on the train won’t lean in a read the stuff that I’m reading. Which is what you might expect if you suddenly whipped out the iPad in a train full of bored commuters, eager to see which TV Series you’re watching.

Of course you could also do games, which will definitely look great.
Oh did I mention the price? A whooping $700 for the base model, that’s in SGD by the way. Which is, well, quite a bomb for something like that. I could pay lesser for a smaller screen but be able to make calls and sms. Thoughts?
.
Basically, this product might only seem to fit with people who either have money to burn for a luxury device, or a crazy Apple fanatic. (I’m not THAT crazy to get one of these, unless I really have extra cash lying somewhere, which either way, won’t go towards paying for something like that.)
And of course. The name iPad is just, wrong. :S
.
Oh, here’s an idea. It might be a really good product for sales people, of all industries. Beats carrying around a clip board and doodling on paper, seem rather unprofessional to me. Lets say a car salesman could actually use this to show customers photos, specifications, financial breakdowns etc etc. Lots of possibilities if salesmen were to adopt this product. Really, just think about it.

The new iPad – Available at all Guardian Pharmacies, Watsons and NTUC.
They should really change the name.
Just booked out not long ago.
Seriously, what a waste of time.
All NSF would know what I mean.
Bah.
So unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll probably know that the prime news for quite a long while now has been the Haitian Earthquake 2010.
Just a brief, first hit by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake sometime last week. And then many frequent aftershocks as well, some hitting 6.0 on the Ritcher scale. (Did I spell it right?)
Anyhow, the main story is that it’s somewhat the biggest catastrophe of Haiti’s human history, estimating death toll at 100,000 to 200,000 people. Buildings have been flattened, bodies decomposing everywhere, no medical aid.

Flattened buildings everywhere.
.
The Haitian government has also been moving homeless people out of the affected capital of Port-au-Prince to Port Jeremie too.

But I mean, look at how crowded the ferries are. Dangerously overcrowded.
But eventually, these people are going to need homes too
Anyhow, CityCare has been arranging and sending teams of doctors, nurses and disaster relief workers over there to help out in anyway possible, largely on the medical side though. It’s a great work that they’re doing there, reaching out to them, showing them love and concern while treating their injuries and such.
Many of you are probably wondering how you can help the people there, either through giving or prayers. Contact your own local Red Cross Society or Mercy Relief for more information. For Singaporean folks, especially those who want to go over and help, CityCare is looking for trained doctors and nurses. Do email haitirelief@citycare.org for more information.
No I haven’t forgotten this place.
Just that I can’t exactly be blogging on the weekdays because of camp, which… sucks.
.
Anywho, I’ve recently been perpetually sick. Had my first asthma attack in probably 8 years, then the following week had fever, and up till now, still feeling a little nauseous and sickly here and there.
Someone mentioned it might be due to stress. What kind of stress you could be asking. Mental stress. Probably stressing myself mentally too much, thinking of so many things at one go, seems to be taking it’s toll.
And apparently, your physical health is pretty much linked to your mental health as well. So, I don’t know, thinking too many thoughts could literally fry your brain I suppose.
.
As a usual routine, ministry on Saturday, which I really enjoy. At least for these 2 years in the miserable place called SAF, I still can keep in touch with media stuff, so my brain doesn’t rot any more than it currently does. Sunday mornings are always reserved for church service. Something that is spirit-led, just felt like I should attend Sunday morning services, usually alone, but nonetheless, very worth it.
.
Though of course, I wish for more time outside in the civilian world, I mean, who doesn’t right? But not just being in the civilian world, but also to be with company that I really enjoy. Company that really edifies and lifts a broken spirit up. Really appreciate it.
Though right now, my mind is pretty blank again. Perhaps it’s part of my mind that’s trying to block out a stream of thoughts that I don’t exactly enjoy entertaining.
Perhaps I should find a way to blog while in camp.
.
Okay, mind’s officially blank.
Ah yes. I’ve finally got this ridiculous thing working.
After over a year of messed up settings, and transfer of ownership and stuff like that. I’ve FINALLY got it working.
.
So now, I’m running a standalone blog on a separate server.
Running WordPress of course. Blogger gives me too much headaches, can’t make sense out of Livejournal. And MT just seems too, complicated?
Okay awesome. So now I can blog with a properly working blog platform, simple but presentable theme.
Not to mention I can now connect my blog to Facebook! Notice that nice “share” button at the top of every post? Now you can share stuff from here to your Facebook Profile too!
Cool eh? Okay I’ll try to make posts a little less wordy and more photos and stuff like that. That would be mean more action from my camera, which unfortunately for now, I only get to use it on weekends.
Oh another thing.
iUnspoken.com is accessible on iPhone / iPod Touch too! Check it out.
Cool stuff eh? iPhone theme for mobile browsing.
To save your bandwidth, it doesn’t load the full entries on the main page. Just the post names. You gotta click on “Read This Post”, thus loading only what you want to read.
.
This is what you’ll see after you click on it.
.
.
And guess what
It goes landscape too! LOL.
.
.
And your comments page
Oh yea, I added that nice CAPTCHA code thing. In case bots decide to flood my page with nonsense.
.
.
And oh ya, you can also post this to Twitter, Facebook, Digg, Del.icio.us, Technorati, Newsvine, Reddit, etc etc. all from your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Think it should work well for Blackberries too.
.
Anyhow, for desktop users, everything should appear nicely now. No more conflicting HTML codes and stuff like that.
And for comments, you can either just comment directly, or you can connect to the various social networking websites to input your identity too!
You can use all of the above to sign in! Cool eh?
Though it would be quite redundant if you already could just enter your name and email directly, but hey, it’s an option. Haha
.
Awesome.
Anyhow, it’s gonna take a while before I transfer all the previous blog posts and media content over to this new blog. Previous server seemed to have forgotten where are all my photos and stuff like that. So gotta figure that part out. Might take a while though.
I’ll try to blog more this year. It’s not like I haven’t been blogging this year though, just that I’ve been blogging somewhere for private eyes only. Too much emotion and feelings for a blog to handle I reckon. Haha.
.
Okay, so enjoy this new blog, visit more, comment more, and don’t forget to click Nuffnang on your way out!
P.S. If I forgot to add anyone to the blogroll, do send me an email ya?

Okay, decided to do something interesting this time around.

I know my postings for 2009 has been nothing but… Nothing basically.
Haven’t been posting anything worth noticing for a while now.
But it’s not that I haven’t been converting my brain activity into digitally readable files.
It’s just that they have been posted into a “close-friends” only environment.
If you’re able to find it……
But one thing though, really appreciative for the close friends that I had and have stayed with me throughout 2009, throughout all the difficult times and what not.
Even when they have their own problems to deal with , they were still there for me.
Really appreciate them.
Even if it’s only a couple of them.
